Last week we kicked off our new series with our Founder, SWINGZ. This week, I thought it might be fun to introduce you to the chick behind all these Facebook posts! 
Meet Kecia Balose, better known as U-Turn!
Not only am I the Social Media Coordinator for Chrome Angelz RC, I am also the proud President of the Twistin’ Sisterz Chapter in North Carolina. So when I am not creating posts, sharing our stories, or trying to keep everybody entertained on Facebook, chances are I’m doing something with my Twistin’ Sisterz! 
Q: How long have you been riding?
A: 17 years.
Q: How did you first get interested in motorcycles and riding?
A: Motorcycles have actually been part of my family for generations. My grandfather, grandmother, mom, and both of my mom’s sisters all rode motorcycles. I grew up hearing my grandfather’s riding stories, but surprisingly, I never really had any interest in riding myself.
That all changed when my boyfriend at the time (who is now my husband)put me on the back of his motorcycle. I was hooked!
It wasn’t long before I decided I didn’t just want to ride on the back. I wanted to learn how to ride my own.
And at 42 years old, I did just that! I learned to ride, earned my motorcycle endorsement, and started a whole new adventure I never expected.
I’m living proof that it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks! 
Q: What made you decide to become a Chrome Angel?
A: One of the biggest things that drew me to Chrome Angelz was Annamarie’s vision, the structure of the organization, and the values behind it.
I loved that it was about more than simply getting together and riding motorcycles. There was a purpose behind it, sisterhood, respect, giving back to our communities, and supporting one another.
Q: What is your favorite part of being a Chrome Angel?
A: There is no better feeling than when we pull up to an event or we are riding together and people suddenly realize…
“Wait…those are ALL women riders!” 
There’s just something about seeing a group of strong women on their own motorcycles riding together that gives me such an incredible sense of pride. I am proud to be a woman rider, and I’m even prouder to ride alongside my Chrome Angelz sisters.
Q: What kind of riding do you enjoy most?
(Group, Solo, Long Distance, Road Trip, etc.)
A: Honestly, I love them all. Group rides, road trips, cruising the backroads, or just getting out for a few hours, I am happy as long as I’m on two wheels.
Q: What’s something people might not expect about you?
A: Despite my road name being U-Turn, I really DO know where I’m going…most of the time. 
I’ve just learned that sometimes the wrong turn makes for the best stories and apparently enough of those wrong turns earned me a road name! 
Q: What would you say to another woman thinking about reaching out to Chrome Angelz?
A: You don’t have to know anyone, and you don’t have to worry about whether you’re going to fit in.

We are about much more than motorcycles. We are about sisterhood, supporting one another, giving back to our communities, and of course, having fun along the way!
